Barcelona 6-1 win over PSG nominated for the comeback of the Year Award

Discussion in 'Spanish League' started by Henry Kofi Asare Brako, Jan 17, 2018.

  1. Barcelona’s comeback against PSG in the Champions League has been nominated for a Laureus Award.

Barcelona were dismantled in the first-leg at the Parc des Princes and faced an impossible mission of overturning a 4-0 scoreline. The world were like "For Barcelona to stage a comeback they'll need Flash, Super Man, Bat Man, Captain America stuffs like that." But we all know how the second Leg ended.

The night at the Camp Nou was one to remember and will probably go down as the most spine-tingling, frenzied and, ultimately, nerve-wracking 90 minutes ever witnessed. Barcelona raced to a 3-0 lead, but their bubbles were burst when Edinson Cavani made it 3-1 in the 62nd minute. It took a rallying cry from Neymar as they hammered in 3 goals in the final 7 minutes of the game.

The victory saw Barcelona overturn the 4-0 deficit from the first leg in the last 16 of the competition, a feat that had never been achieved before. It was a brilliant, thrilling, unforgettable night.

The 6-1 victory on 8 March 2017 at Camp Nou is a candidate in the World Comeback of the Year category and will face competition from Chapecoense, Roger Federer, athletes Justin Gatlin and Sally Pearson, and MotoGP driver Valentino Rossi.

Barcelona win against PSG was so incredible and emotional. I don't see any other comeback beating it to the award.

That's will definitely win the award. That comeback was massive.
  4. The comeback might not win it considering the fact that the match was riddled with some level of controversies. I tip Justin Gatlin to win the award.

You said that because you don't like Barcelona. I'm force to respond to you because the Justin Gatlin you choose ahead of Barcelona has a career riddled with controversies.
He's has been fined twice for doping so what are you talking about?

For the breakthrough category no-one deserves it better than Anthony Joshua
Team of the year should be Golden state warriors.
Sport man and woman of the year is Mo Farah and Garbine Muguruza.
    My choice.
