BAYERN MUNICH are aiming for their fifth win in a row in the Bundesliga. The Munich based team has bursts back to life after the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti. The return of Jupp Heynckes has inspired the team and they have rediscovered their form that made them win the treble in 2013.

Returning from the Winter break, Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 14 points after goals from Javi Martinez, Franck Ribery and James Rodriguez did the damage to Bayer Levarkusen as Bayern Munich securing a 3-1 victory at the BayArena on Friday.

Bayern Munich away win over Bayer Leverkusen is their first win at the BayArena since March 2013. They handed Bayer Leverkusen, who remain fourth, on the League table their first defeat in thirteen game and ended their 12-match unbeaten run. Bayern Munich now temporarily move 14 points clear of second-placed Schalke, who visit RB Leipzig on today.

Javi Martinez gave Bayern Munich the lead after lashing at a loose ball from close range inside the near post. Leverkusen defence failed to clear the ball after blocking a header from Vidal who connected well with Arjen Robben's corner kick. Leverkusen returned into the game but the best they got was when Leon Bailey struck the crossbar nine minutes after the break.

34 year-old Ribery extended Bayern lead with his first goal of the season. He picked the ball from the left wing before running into the penalty area and then put the ball into Bernd Leno net.

Volland pulled a goal back for Bayer Leverkusen in the 70th minute to reduce the goal deficit which led to a period of intense Leverkusen pressure in search of a comeback but they couldn't consolidate on their goal as Sven Bender, Volland and Lucas Alario all missed glorious chances to extend their unbeaten run. Volland's effort ensured that Bayer Leverkusen has now scored in 23rd consecutive Bundesliga matches to set a new record.

On-loan forward James Rodriguez rounded it up for Bayern Munich when he curled a perfectly weighted free-kick into the top-left corner to cap off a strong individual performance and secured Bayern's first victory at the BayArena in five years.

Like Manchester City, can we say Bayern Munich has rounded up the bundasliga trophy? Have a say, drop your comments below.
