As war of words continues between Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, United manager is at the receiving end as their battle for supremacy off the pitch takes a news turn.

Antonio Conte has responded to Jose Mourinho, brandishing the Manchester United manager a "little man" and a "fake" as the pair continued to trade insults.

Earlier on Friday, Mourinho started his press conference by apologizing to Antonio Conte for the misunderstanding as if he wanted truce but his parting shot was drop dead as he threw a shaft of sarcasm at Conte, claiming he would "never be suspended for match-fixing", appearing to talk about Conte.

Conte was handed a four-month suspension at Juventus in the 2012-13 campaign for failing to report match-fixing at his previous club Siena, but was declared innocent and cleared of any wrongdoing in 2016.

He said: "Before you make these comments you have to know the truth very well, in the past he was a little man in many circumstances, is a little man in the present and for sure he will be a little man in the future. He is not my problem, I consider him a very little man with a very low profile.

Conte also spoke about Mourinho reaction after Claudio Ranieri was sacked by Leicester, Mourinho who had earlier lashed out on Ranieri for his bad English after taking over from him at Chelsea wore a shirt with the initials 'CR' at a Manchester United news conference in solidarity with him.

"I remember for example with [Claudio] Ranieri. He offended Ranieri for his English, then when Ranieri was sacked he put a shirt with his name on. This shows you are a fake. If you want to fight a person, you try to kill this person. And then after two years you try to help this person, because maybe it's good for you, for your profile.

Conte was asked if he would like clarity things with Mourinho, Conte stressed that he has nothing to clarify but he's ready to meet with Mourinho at the Old Trafford but wasn't sure the Portuguese will be willing to face up to him when their two sides meet next month.

The situation is very clear. I don't have anything to clarify. It will be the opportunity in the game against United when we go to Old Trafford. Me and him face to face. I'm ready. I don't know if he's ready."

While some fans can't wait for the big showdown at Old Trafford next month others are just revelling in the fact they think Mourinho has got to Conte.

What do you make of this, is it really part of the game, because we know Mourinho playing the mind game this one game too many? For Conte as well did he not over react for calling his counterpart a little man, but let's not forget that he claimed to have problem with his English.

Probably he was talking about immaturity, I'm trying to interpret what he means by calling Mourinho a little man? What do you think? Have a say, drop your comments below.

If this is a mind game, I don't know what it's all about, I don't know what the target is Mourinho and Ferguson did the mind game thing because they were both fighting for the tittle. At this point Chelsea and Man United are no where near the tittle at least for now, could the mind game be about the second position? :p:p:p

What I know about these two managers is that the rivalry started last season after Chelsea trashed United 4-0 and Conte would not reduce the intensity of his celebration.
Mourinho went to him to tell him to mellow down that the it was like kicking a man you had already beaten and had fallen to the ground. At that point, Conte took an exception. Which was the beginning of their rivalry.

  6. I think it would be better for this two managers to think about how best they can transform their teams to compete for a decade to glorify the ambition of transition in their coaching career rather than creating unnecessary tension which is degrading their credentials and they should know better that greatest coaches are always thinking and planning to implement the success of their teams.

Fabio Capello said : ”Conte doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. Conte is doing what Mourinho used to do. I didn’t think it would come to this. When you go after Mourinho, you’re dealing with someone very good at verbal interactions. He wants to take the focus away from his team.
In case you don't know, Conte hasn't won a game ever since he started insulting Mourinho

  8. Seriously, the culprit here is the English media, I think we need to address the role the English media played in this.
A journalist heard Mourinho say he doesn't have to behave like a clown on the touchline.
I can't deny the fact that the statement might be indirectly directed to Conte, but the journalist went directly to Conte asking him what he feels about Mourinho calling him a clown when Mourinho never actually called him a clown.
That got Conte mad and he fired the first shot saying Mourinho probably have demenza senile.
    Read the full gist here.
To me, the journalist need scrutiny

  12. Well if used in de right direction (Pranks/Antics in general) not to bring de game of football into disrepute, I think it shouldn't be a big deal. Buh to tarnish one's image is strictly interdicted.

Well said, football is not boxing and coaches should not be confrontational or go way out of line

  14. Mourinho had picked up a fight with nearly all the top coaches every where he went. wondering if his enemies does not supersedes his friends.
More also, Conte has attitudinal problem. he lacks patience. Too bad for him.
