Real Madrid are likely going to lose the services of their player Dani Carvajal to a ban after the defender was charged by UEFA for getting booked on purpose during their 6-0 win at Apoel Nicosia in Champions League Group H on Tuesday. The Spanish defender was shown a yellow card in the 90th minute for time wasting when taking a throw in which triggered an automatic ban but there have been some suggestions that there was another reason. Carvajal have been booked twice before the match, the booking against APOEL was his third booking of the group stage which means he will miss the final group game at home to Borussia Dortmund on December 6 which means nothing for either side. There have been suggestions that the player got booked to avoid featuring in the final game against Dortmund and Now, UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary body are looking into the incident and if Carvajal is adjudged to have been booked on purpose, he will be suspended for an additional two matches. The issue of getting booked on purpose is getting more popularity in football, during Mourinho reign at Real Madrid, two Madrid players Xavi Alonso and Sergio Ramos got booked on purpose in the match against Ajax so they can miss the next match and have a clean slate going into the knockout stages. It's a good thing that UEFA is clamping down on issues like this which will reduce what seem like cheating. What do you think? Have you been say, drop your comments below.
