Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon will once again come up against the Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League quarter-finals and has heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid. Italian football legend Gianluigi Buffon revealed that through out his 23 seasons of top flight football he's only seen one player who finishes like Cristiano Ronaldo and that players isn't Lionel Messi but former team-mate David Trezeguet. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 21 goals in 11 Real Madrid which has given him a total of 22 league goals, as well as a further 12 goals in Europe. The Real Madrid superstar has been incredible and unstoppable this season Champions League and was also instrumental in first knockout stage as he scored three times as Real Madrid eliminated PSG in the last 16. Last time the buffon faced Ronaldo which was in last season's Champions League final in Cardiff the Portugal captain beat Buffon twice as Real Madrid won the 2017 Champions League final in Cardiff. The 40-year-old Italian legend and Juventus shot-stopper reached three Champions League finals with Juventus but is still yet to get hands on the trophy and standing in his way to the semifinals is Real Madrid who stopped him from lifting the title last season. Ronaldo was rested by Zinedine Zidane over the weekend after returning from the international break where he struck a late brace to help Portugal come from behind to beat Egypt before drawing blank in Portugal's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Netherlands on Tuesday. Buffon told Marca: "Over time he has learned how to improve himself as an athlete. As a player, he spends less energy with respect to what he did previously. "I admire him a lot because he is a pragmatic person, lucid in everything he does and what he says. I think that in recent years he has shown that he is very intelligent, because he has changed his way of playing. "He is also lethal, everything he does is at 100 percent and in front of the goal he is an assassin." Gianluigi Buffon has likened his predatory finishing skills to former teammate David Trezeguet. "The only player I've seen have this clarity when shooting on his own is David Trezeguet." David Trezeguet who retired from football in 2014 was a prolific, goal-scoring machine for Juventus who guided his side to Serie A, B titles and domestic cups, while reaching the Champions League final in 2003. The prolific striker spent 11 seasons at Juventus playing alongside Buffon for 10 of those, scoring 171 goals in 318 appearances for the Serie A side where they won two Serie A titles scored. The French legend was a sublime finisher who won the World Cup in 1998, and the European Championships in 2000 and you'd be brave to argue against one of the greatest ever goalkeepers who faced him in training for nine seasons.
