This isn’t the first time Neymar and Cavani have been involved in penalty drama. Back in September against Lyon, the attacking duo argued over penalty and free-kick duties which resulted into a serious falling out.

It seems Neymar has fallen out of the good books of the Paris Saint-Germain faithful despite the resurgence the club had experienced since he joined them. The Brazilian has once again angered PSG fans despite putting in a five-star performance against Dijon, scoring four goals and setting up another two.

Instead of recieving praise and commendation from the fans Neymar met with the opposite. He was fiercely boos by the home fans. In the 82nd minute Edinson Cavani won a spot after he was fouled in the box by Cedric Yambere and was in course to set a new club record after his goal earlier in the game had drawn him level with PSG’s all-time top goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic on 156 goals.

Neymar stepped up to take the spot kick despite having already scored a hat-trick, the scene didn't go down well with the PSG fans, they started booing Neymar and were chanting ‘Cavani, Cavani’ in the hope to convince the player to hand over the ball to his teammate. Neymar ignored their antics and converted the penalty himself to grab his fourth goal of the night.

Of course, Cavani will have to wait for another day to break the record. The displeased crowd continued to voice their displeasure at his selfishness. Neymar went to the dressing room following the final whistle according to L'Equipe because he did not like the way fans had chanted for Cavani to take the penalty that was hit by Neymar to give PSG their eighth.

Neymar also reached a milestone against Dijon as his first assist made him the first player in any of Europe’s top five leagues to provide ten assists this campaign.

Why did Neymar ignored the opinion of the home fans and took the penalty? Neymar's €222m move to PSG put the weight of the world on his shoulders. He wants to put up his best and remain in the head line.

Neymar is turning out to be a selfish bigot. He got what he deserves.
