You may have heard that Özil and his wife pledged to pay for the life-changing surgeries of 1,000 kids.

German World Cup winner Mesut Özil, who wedded actress and former miss Turkey Amine Gulse

Ozil said on Twitter: “Amine and I will bear the expenses for surgeries of 1000 children.

“I’d be happy if in addition, many more treatments all over the world can be fulfill. I have really taken the team at BigShoe and the passion they treat their young patient heart.”

Ozil has been supporting BigShoe since lifting the World Cup with Germany in Brazil. BigShoe is a charity organization.

His tireless work with the charity earned him the Laureus Sport for Good award. The German star is also an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine.

The children's charity brightens the lives of seriously ill kids in the UK aged three granting individual wishes and organising outings and large-scale events.

And the big-hearted World Cup winner has shown his charitable side in other ward. Last year he paid £30,000 for an 'Invincibles' watch at an Arsenal charity bash.

But you may not have heard that they also donated money to feed 16,000 people - on their wedding day through the Red Crescent many of whom were Syrian refugees.

Red Crescent are the biggest humanitarian organisation in the country who provide support to alleviate the human suffering of wars.

Great Assist, realest Assist from Ozil.
