Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has insisted that he will not be resigning as head coach of the Spanish champions, despite last week's incredible loss to Liverpool in the Champions League. Valverde’s position as Barça boss is far from safe at this point of time after his side’s disastrous Champions League exit at the hands of Premier League runners-up Liverpool last week losing 4-0 at Liverpool in the second leg of their semi-final to suffer a 4-3 aggregate defeat. Barca are on course for a domestic double this season having already wrapped up La Liga and would face Valencia in the Copa Del Rey final. That being said, should Ernesto Valverde lose that game, it may very well be his final act in charge of the Blaugrana. It earlier seemed like Josep Maria Bartomeu wanted to swing his axe as soon as the season got over amid Barcelona’s Champions League collapse, but the club’s seniors like Messi and Suarez managed to pacify the President and asked him to give Valverde another season to prove his credentials. A section of stake holders believe Valverde has only achieve much at Barcelona because Lionel Messi would constantly bale out his frailties and his position was called into question following the European failure. When questioned about considering leaving his role as Barcelona manager, he told reporters that he 'had not thought about' stepping down.
